Toyota Tsusho (Thailand) Co., Ltd. has joined the Green Town Moving forward with Toyota Mangrove Reforestation Year 15 and cleaning up rubbish along the mangrove forest
On July 6, 2019, Her Royal Highness Princess Aditayadornkitikhun joined the mangrove reforestation activity, “Toyota Mangrove Reforestation Year 15 and cleaning up rubbish along the mangrove forest” to plant over 50,000 trees consisting of mangrove, Blume (Samkhao), and Cork tree (Lumphu) species, adding over 9 Rais to existing mangrove forest at Bangpu Nature Education Centre, Samut Prakan.
Toyota Tsusho (Thailand) Co., Ltd. by Mr. Kiyoyoshi Oba, President, Mr. Pramote Lawsatta, Vice President, Mr. Chananont Trichaiviriyakul, General Manager of Human Resources and 50 members of CSR club also joined this activity as well.
As for this year’s mangrove reforestation activity, Toyota were supported by over 5,000 volunteers as a collaborative between Toyota Motor Thailand Co., Ltd, Department of Army Quartermaster and Foundation for Environmental Education for Sustainable Development (Thailand) (FEED). The objective of this project is to restore Bangpu mangrove forest which is the last forest.
This is also the first time for Mangrove Coastal Cleanup. It is observable that the shore of mangrove forest is an ocean rubbish pool which significantly impacts ecosystem and other living creatures. This activity received operational support from over 2,000 volunteers. For this event, rubbish is collected and separated into 8 categories: plastic waste, PET, glass bottle, metal and tin, cloth and rubber, foam, general solid waste, and hazardous waste, for further appropriate disposal and recycle, minimizing their effects on environment.
